2010
Saturday the 6th was the date for this years event, and once again, the people of Snarestone were looked kindly upon by the weather gods as it was another perfect night for festivities. After a very wet Friday 5th, Saturday boasted clear skies, perfect weather for building the monster fire, and with no wind at all, it meant a cool, crisp evening was had by all apart from those near the fire or serving burgers.
The crowds were once again healthy. A good number of people came supporting the event, but not so many as to make it a crowded affair. "Just right" said one lady on the way out. Favourable comments were also made on the style of the event, as it continues to stick to the traditional elements of a Bonfire night, namely a proper fire, good fireworks and a BBQ, all in the grounds of a pub, what more do you need?
For those that came, we hope you had a great evening and Thank You for coming and supporting us.
The event was run by the Tote Committee in conjunction with The Globe.
The committee would like to thank Jez and Debbie and their team at The Globe for allowing us to hold this event at the Pub.
The Tote Committee run a weekly Tote on a Sunday night in the Globe, raising funds for events such as a Christmas Party for the Children and OAPs of the village and a Summer Mystery Trip, amongst others. If you wish to find out more, email this website, or ask about the Tote in the Globe.
My Thanks to Seppo Hakkinen for contributing the following Photographs from the night.

2009
This years event was held on Saturday 7th, and it proved to be a good decision as the 5th and 6th saw two heavy nights of rain, the 7th turned out to be a perfect evening for a Bonfire night. Clear skies meant it was nice and dry, albeit a little cooler, so a good enough excuse for bringing out all the hats and scarves. The fire was probably the biggest we have ever had, expertly constructed with the help of some of the villages 'young adults' returning from their respective colleges to assist the committee in this traditional village event.
The firework display was as good as ever, with the final rocket fading to sound of applause from the crowd. Traditional fayre also went down very well, with burgers, hotdogs, soup and mushy peas particular favourites. To add to the occasion, a Polish Brass band played a few numbers in the car park for those who didnt wish to stray too far from the bar!

2007 and 2008
Both years saw excellent weather conditions and a really great evening was had by one and all. We received many complimentary comments back, particularly how nice it is to have a friendly traditional event, without modern and expensive distractions of Fairgrounds, overpriced burger bars etc. It runs early evening so that children's bed times aren't compromised, and for those who don't have to get the kids to bed, the bar in the Globe is always a fine place to warm up again afterwards.
Apologies for their being no pictures of the last couple of years, but the photographers have been far too busy on the night trying to make it run smoothly for our guests! If you were there and took any, please let me have them at richard@snarestone.org.uk They don't have to be as good as David's below!
Many thanks.

The Globe hosted the Annual Snarestone Bonfire and Firework night run in conjunction with the Snarestone Tote Committee on Saturday the 4th November and saw an improved turnout on last year of approximately 300-400 people. The weather was just perfect, clear and still which made for ideal conditions for both the giant bonfire and the 30 minute firework display.
