Easter Duck Race

Easter Sunday saw the return of the duck race to Snarestone. The weather was sunny and dry for the 30-40 spectators lining the banks. The river had been cleared the day before and conditions were perfect.........

The banks and islands provided many viewing opportunities....

The early stages were quite slow, allowing people the opportunity to try and locate their duck...

The ducks soon spread out and added some colour to the Spring day...

The leading two ducks in the final straight, choose different 'lines' in an attempt to catch some late finishing speed..

"Never mind sweetheart, perhaps we will win next year?".....

"I'm not leaving until my duck finishes"...
