MINUTES OF MEETING: 15 January, 2008 at St Bartholomew’s Church
1. Present: Jonathan Driffill, Jane Davies, Mike Gee, James Hunt, Simon Boam. Clerk: Mike Allen
2. Apologies: none
3. Minutes of meeting on 24 September, 2007 read and signed
4. No matters arising
5. Money owed: £26.00 for CPRE annual subscription; £20.00 to Mrs Davies for mole clearing; £29.99 to Mike Allen for flowers sent to Harold Thorp in hospital. Cheques signed at meeting.
6. Pavilion: MA has had a meeting with Mr & Mrs Bateman - they are very happy with the proposal to utilise the pavilion as a mini community centre; but they did stress that they do not want loud music or noise coming from the pavilion area on a regular basis. MA agreed to advise them of all planned events as far in advance as possible. MA to follow up on water and electricity supply. New lease in abeyance until a decision has been finalised on the use of the pavilion. MA has had one quote for window grills and will get another two (one of which will be for wooden shutters). One of the windows has been vandalised again and has now been replaced.
7. Conery path: three quotations needed. MA to chase these.
8. Current Planning Applications: Canal terminus - no objections from Lodge Farm
9. Annual Precept for 2008/9: maintain current funding, MA to confirm by 31/01/08
10. Dog Control Orders: documentation received from County Council. Circulate to Parish Council and put notice on village notice board and web site.
11. Village website: MA to follow up training

(i) MA will reclaim VAT for the past two years
(ii) MA to confirm to HSBC re transferring the bulk of our current a/c into the savings a/c so that we can earn some interest on funds whilst they are not being used
(iii) following a letter of complaint considered at the previous council meeting, the current situation regarding the siting of caravans at the Globe and next to the Odd House was reviewed. It is understood that the new landlord at the Globe intends to remove the caravans and so it was agreed that the situation would be reviewed at the next meeting. J Driffill agreed to contact NWLDC Planning Department to ascertain the status of the caravan site next to the Odd House.
