SNARESTONE PARISH COUNCIL

MINUTES OF MEETING: 13 September, 2010 at St Bartholomew’s Church

 

 

 

 

1. Present: Simon Boam, James Hunt, Jane Davies, Jonathan Driffill and Mike Gee. Clerk: Mike Allen. For the village: Adrian Gascoine and Mick Conway.

 

2. Apologies: none

 

3. Minutes of meeting on 17 June, 2010 read and signed

 

4. Matters arising: (a) MA has spoken to the Police about the nuisance making in the garage area behind Quarry Lane – they will patrol the area in both marked and unmarked cars; (b) annual allotment rent was confirmed at £5.00

 

5. Money owed: £220.00 to James Hunt for Conery mowing. Price agreed at £20.00 per cut.

 

6. Bank account summaries:      Current A/C - £4108.96 (end August)

Deposit A/C - £2219.25 (4th August)

 

7. Annual Audit: approved and paid.

 

8. Speedwatch: MA has contacted neighbouring councils to gauge interest in a camera sharing proposal. Only two responded – both negative.

 

9. Pavilion: Adrian Gascoine presented a detailed update regarding the provision of utilities: (i) the water connection has been prepaid and is expected to be connected by the end of October (ii) a cost of £1,400 for laying on electricity has been agreed and there is money to cover this. Anticipated connection by the end of October (iii) a quotation for a 3,000 litre septic tank is due and there are funds to cover the anticipated cost (iv) the sponsor of the football club will install toilet, sink, etc at no charge (v) MA to investigate the Rates situation.  

 

10. Planning applications: none

 

11. AOB

(i) MA to compose a letter from Snarestone Football Club to Mr & Mrs Bateman with a request to relinquish the lease on the pavilion and get Stephen Saunders to sign it. Then proceed with a new lease between the Batemans and the Parish Council.

            (ii) MA to get 100 new bus timetables for inclusion in the Parish Magazine.

(iii) Following a complaint from Norman Ripley, the Council agreed to have the Conery trees trimmed back and Jane Davies will investigate possible contractor/s.

            (iv) The Conery path is overgrown and needs treating with Roundup.
