Our small brick Georgian Church, situated on the B4116 on the west side of the village, is  a warm, welcoming and friendly place of worship. At various times of the year, social events take place which aim to involve and entertain the  whole community, notably our Harvest Supper “Variety Show” every October.  The interior of the church was modernised in 2001 and we enjoy comfortable seating and a carpeted floor.  At the time of writing (Jan 2011) we are in the early stages of a new project to provide the church with kitchen and toilet facilities. Planning permission is being sought, and we are continuing to raise the funds required.

Our worship ranges from the traditional to the informal. Since 2008 we have been holding “Community Worship” on the third Sunday of every month. This service is entirely organised and led by village residents of all ages, and something different and lively every month can be guaranteed!
St Bartholomew’s, together with Swepstone, Appleby Magna and Norton-juxta Twycross, forms part of the Appleby Group of churches. The Reverend Karen Thomas was ordained to be Team Vicar of the Appleby Group in Spring 2010.  Karen lives with her husband Wyn at the Rectory in Appleby Magna. The Appleby Group forms half of the Woodfield Team, centred on Measham.
